Why I Have Resisted FriendFeed

Filed under: Open Social — @ 1:52 am

I stand in the world without a FriendFeed. It may be a slightly darker, colder less RSS-blissful place, but I am okay with that for the moment. If you’ve been trapped under some Web 1.0 rock, FriendFeed is an aggregate service that allows you to link all your social media profiles, blogs and services into one site and feed — Lifehacker can walk you through getting one and Tamar Weinberg analyzed it for us. With your account and page on FriendFeed created, you can connect with friends and conta

The Seeds of an Open-source iPhone have been Planted…

Filed under: Open Social — @ 9:20 pm

Cmw, the genius hacker that brought you the original Tiff exploit for the iPhone and winpwn (which could not have been possible without planetbeing or squpix) has brought the iPhone-Linux SVN online. It is’t much at the moment, but give it some time and who knows, maybe in a few months we can have Compiz, Ubuntu Mobile, or Android on it. Or all 3!

The Big Picture (part I)

Filed under: Open Social — @ 1:17 pm

I’m thinking of this as a ‘throat-clearing’ post.   There’s a lot that I have been thinking about, but it seems to be all running together in my head.  What I want to do is think through the issues that define the blockage and untangle them a bit.  If you, dear readers, come away with a clearer picture of my goals, all the better.  It will probably take more than one post.  First. before I forget, the cut. I’m going to list off, in no particular order, the underlying problems and assumption

Filed under: Open Social — @ 11:03 am

This paper will examine some opinions in regard to preparing your partner and yourself to have a threesome. To begin with there is no right way or one way to prepare for having a threesome. It comes to be very much an individualistic and couple thing to prepare to have a threesome. There however a few things that couples can do to ensure that they have not overlooked. Sometime before selecting the third person and after agreeing to search for a third person the couple needs to agree on how the

What Microsoft can do to beat Google to the (next) Punch

Filed under: Open Social — @ 10:49 am

It’s understood that Google is light years ahead of Microsoft today in search. Even a Yahoo! acqusition probably will not help materially as far as momentum goes. Google is smarter and they are just experts at the search game. That doesn’t mean that MS is dead. They are still a tremendous force from both a PC and a web perspective. However, if I were Microsoft here’s what I would do: Either fully open source windows (both vista and mobile) or buy a linux company. This would allow MS to partic

Twitter Love Day - A Proposal

Filed under: Open Social — @ 8:56 am

Today is TWITTER LOVE DAY! After the pretty big Twitter outages on Monday and Tuesday many people asked if I still support my declared “Twitter Love Day.” My response? Of course! The most recent Twitter outages are all the more reason why we need to keep the talk going. I’ve said it before - while I do not agree 100 percent with the some of the proponents of today’s Twit-Out we do have the same goal in mind: make the service better. We started out with vehement disagreement and now have co
